Listen to what some of our customers are saying!

  Tuesday, May 11, 2004

Hey Captain Ronny, I just wanted to let you know what a blast we had on the 15 hour trip we took on 5/7/04. It was everything we expected and then some. If somebody wants to catch a variety of fish using a variety of methods, Ronands is the place to go. We caught kingfish, sharks, amberjack, cobia, little tunny, red and queen snapper, and barracuda. These fish were all hooked at different structures on various baits. We fished grass lines, bakers hump, a shrimp boat, a submerged oil rig, and a triple oil rig. Ronny can really put you on the fish! He not only knows how to hook fish, he knows how to hook customers (pun intended). He is extremely knowledgeable and we learned a lot by the thousands of questions we asked him. We will definitely see you next summer Ronny.... hopeful you will have your new boat by then!
Thanks Mark Mostaert

P.S. It might be a good idea that you suggest to people on your web site that they DO NOT wear open toed sandals on the boat like a certain member of our party did - LOL.

The hospitality, comfort and friendliness at the B & B was superb. Their landscaping is beautiful.

Captain Ronny is an excellent boat handler and knew where to hunt for the "big ones" offshore. The "Lady Godiva" is a great riding boat and well equipped for offshore fishing.

The "Aquarius" is also a very comfortable boat for bay fishing. Captain Cary is a very good boat handler and really knows the bay and how to find the fish.

I would highly recommend their services to anyone who wants to experience great fishing.

Thanks Ronand BGF !

Hello captain Ronny,

Just wanted to tell you how much we all enjoyed the
trip. Fishing was great and everyone left happy. I particularly appreciate the special attention you gave me when I wasn't feeling that good, there for a while. Thank you for that. I'd like also to express a 'special thank you' to (you and) your lovely wife for all the hospitality you extended to our group. We're all still looking for that seafood boil receipt. They say "it's in the details" Ron, and if that's true, you have a great formula. Anyway, I'll be talking to you again soon. There is no reason for any of us to go anywhere else for great coastal fishing. Best Wishes and Thanks Again.

Ken Cox

  Hello Capt. Ronny,

I want to take this opportunity to again thank you for the great fishing trip the three of us had. your hospitality, food and fishing was second to none. I would not hesitate a minute to send friends to Ronand's Big Game Fishing. I hope the rest of 2003 is very good to you. And we are looking forward to next trip and staying with you al.

Respectfully,
James J. Romans

Dear Ronand Big Game fishing....

I cannot tell you how much fun we had, the best part was staying here with yall. We felt so at home and the food was wonderful, like in a 5 star restaurant, the fellowship was even better. It really was like coming to stay with relatives. the fishing was great , Charles had a great time and believe it or not, even when sea sick my time wasn't so bad either, at least I got to catch a big black tip shark. The most important thing was that it was EVERYTHING and more that Charles and I expected in our little honey moon trip to the Gulf of Mexico and be shore "

WE WILL BE BACK"

Charles and Robin

  Well Ron,

We are home now and have recovered from Spring Break. If you don't arrive
home exhausted, then you didn't do enough. My husband, 9yo son, sister, and
I stayed wtih Ron for five days in March this year for Spring Break. We had
a great time. Ron was minus his deck hand and his boat when we arrived, but
that didn't stop us at all. He hooked us up with a great bay guide for the
first day and we caught speckled trout and red fish, while Ron got his boat
out of the shop. Ron then fixed the redfish for dinner that night, and he
really is a great chef. He finally credited the great broccoli soup we ate
twice to his wife Andrea, so we know she's a great cook too. The following
day we did a 60 mile trip and caught lots of fish including red snapper,
shark, and an amberjack. We took the next day off and did some sightseeing
and shopping while Ron took out another fishing party. We finished out with
a thirty mile trip and caught shark and HUGE red snapper...see the photo
gallery. We had planned to go over and tour the King Ranch for our last day
but who wants to look at cattle when you can fish so we went back to the bay
again.

Thanks Ron,

We had a great vacation.

The Gill's and Akin's...Jim, Kathryn, Rosanne and Danny

P.S. Danny has shown the picture of the shark that he caught at school
everyday since we've been home.

  Dear Captain Ronny,

Lowell, Doug and I had a great time fishing with you. Lowell keeps asking
me when we can book another trip with you.

I hope you got your engines fixed ok and I hope you catch a lot of fish this
week.

I will contact you about another trip soon. Thanks again for a great trip.

Sincerely,

Roger Pigott, DVM

Dear Captain Ronny,
My wife, father and I decided to go deep sea fishing since my folks are in Corpus for awhile each winter. We found Ron's website and after some planning, booked a trip. The weekend we had planned on was poor, weatherwise. We bumped from Saturday to Sunday in hopes of better weather. We left early Sunday morning and after a 2.5 hour ride, we reached the shelf. We dropped in lines and my wife caught the first fish of the day, a nice red snapper. With increasing seas, Ron and Keri decided to head for an
oil rig. On the way we saw a shrimp boat culling their nets, and trolled their chum line for tuna. We didn't catch any, but saw a few pods of dolphins. As the seas increased, so did our land lubbing. After tangling with a particularly large wave (Ron, did you get your window brackets working again?), we made it to the oil rig. This is where we really started nailing them. All told, we caught around 12-15 snapper and varieties of snapper, one huge jackfish, one large ling cod, a nice grouper and three 4-5 foot long eels. Ron convinced us to stay a bit longer and I'm glad we did. Ron hooked into something BIG and handed me the pole. This was like pulling a cement mixer with a tail out of the water! I fought the fish for about 45 minutes and had to hand off the pole to my Dad. After he fought it for another 20-30 minutes, it straightened the hook and was gone. Ron had been testing the line and guessed the weight to be WELL over one hundered pounds.Later on my Dad hooked on to a 30 minute fight that also
straightened the hook, and was believed to be a shark. We called it a day and headed back in much calmer seas. Ron and Keri cleaned our take at the boat dock and we said our farewells. Let me say that it was one of the best experiences I have ever had and we definitely plan on coming again (Hopefully when the weather is a little better!). Ron and Keri were both very knowledgeable and skilled in their craft.

Anyway, take care Ron, we hope to see you when it's warm and we can nail some tuna and dolphin!

-Chris Rundstrom and family

Here's what Robert Riser has to say about his trip:

I would like to thank Captain Ronny for a successful fishing trip Oct. 5,
2002. The lodging he offers is clean and comfortable. He is a very good cook. His
boat and tackle were in excellent condition. I told Cpt. Ronny that I had been out in the Gulf twice about 20 miles. He told me we were going to the end! I ask him what that meant and he said all day. We went out about 90 miles the total trip was about 200 miles. He really meant all day!

We hit the water at 5 am and headed to Matagorda shipwrecks. I fished for
red snapper and caught my limit in 45 minutes. The fish were hitting the bait
as it fell to bottom. From there we went to N. Breakers. Captain Ronny and his deckhand Kerry setup to troll while I steered the boat. We trolled about 30 minutes and caught what Cpt. Ronny called a chicken dolphin. Captain Ronny said we needed to move on and get to E. Breakers. It was a good decision. We trolled for 30 to 40 minutes when all of the sudden all 7 lines hit. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Now we were fishing!

It was a major adrenaline rush. Kerry handed me a rod while he and Cpt. Ronny set the hooks on the other rods. We managed to get 5 of the 7 in the boat. We had trolled through a school of Tuna. It was awesome! After we caught our breath we continued to troll the area. About 30 minutes later I caught a 57" Wahoo. That fish put up a good fight. When you think you have the fish beat, it will turn and run. There is nothing you can do but wait and hope it stops. It took several minutes to land that fish. I was feeling the burn in my arms!

Captain Ronny said we should go to an oil and gas platform that was not far
away and try for barracuda. Once again he knew what he was talking about. I caught two within about 30 minutes, using ribbonfish for bait. We stayed there another half-hour and then moved on to Duna Rock. When we got to Duna Rock there was a wide grass line that seemed to go for miles. We started trolling along the grass line, about 30 minutes went by and no fish. I had gotten use to catching something within 30 minutes. I asked Cpt. Ronny what he thought about this particular area. I didn't even get the words out of my mouth good when a Mahi-mahi hit. Captain Ronny turned to me and said what do you think?

I grabbed the rod, set the hook and the fight was on! Mahi-mahi is a great
catch. They fight very hard. When I was reeling it in, it jumped all the way out of the water several times. It was an awesome site. As I got the fish close to the boat, it turned and left there in a big hurry! There was nothing I could do. Finally it stopped and I reeled him in. My arms were killing me when it was all over. I barely had the strength to hold it up for pictures. I took a breather while Ronny and Kerry set the lines. We trolled another hour and caught a couple of chicken dolphin. It was about 6pm and Cpt. Ronny said we needed to head back. I didn't want the day to end but I was too tired to go on.

This was the best fishing trip I have ever had. I could not have asked for
better.

I plan to return for another trip with Captain Ronny next summer. I hope it
will be as successful a trip as this one. I can't wait.

Thanks
Robert Riser

  Here's another!
  REISVERSLAG TEXAS MEI-JUNI 2002

Wij dus met 3 man erheen .

Aangekomen in CORPUS CHRISTI !!!

Alles is prima georganiseerd en wij kijken onze ogen uit naar “ the American way of life “ .

Lekker gaan eten in Texan – Grill ( à volonté ). Daarmee mag kok-Ronny vandaag rusten .

  Drew Maczko says:
I would like to again say thanks for the trip. It was one of the best times
I've had offshore. You are a very nice person and I consider myself lucky
to know you as a friend.
Now for the testimony:

My father and I booked a trip with Captain Ronny on 01.31.03 and it
was well worth it. Not only is Capt. Ronny an excellent skipper but he is
an accomplished fisherman as well. The accommodations were by far the
nicest I've seen in a 27 footer, and the ride was very comfortable all the
way out and back. "Lady Godiva" is a very stable and fishable platform to
do some serious catching. As we headed out 100+ miles to the Noble
Ferrington Drilling rig, expectations were high and we were not
disappointed. The first time we put out the spread of lures we were greeted
with the 58 pound yellowfin seen in the picture. Baitfish and bird activity
were everywhere around the rig and we landed some nice blackfins. By far
the highlight of the day was the hookup my dad had with the Mahi seen in the
picture. Watching my dad reel in the fish was a memory I will never forget.
Even though my dad and I were very pleased at the morning's results, Ronny
was not satisfied with our previous success. His persistance paid off when
we caught two more blackfins trolling over 300 Fathom Bank as the sun was
setting. This a man truly dedicated to sport fishing and will fish with the
same intensity till it's time to return to port. Capt. Ronny goes the extra
mile to insure a successful fishing experience. I will definitely recommend
Capt. Ronny to anyone considering going offshore. We not only brought fish
home but enduring memories as well. I am already looking forward to the
next trip! Thanks again, Capt. Ronny.

Drew Maczko.
